NRA BASIC PISTOL (Part 1 to Illinois Concealed cArry)

Course Description:

 

This class is called NRA BASIC PISTOL and is comprised of 8 hours instruction. This class is also the first of two (2) courses needed to obtain your concealed carry permit.  This course will give you the knowledge, skills, and attitude required to safely handle handguns.  Valid FOID card holders can now officially register for the Basic Pistol Course, which accounts for half of your Illinois Concealed Carry Permit CCW training and certification.  If you’re a beginner and new to firearms training, this is your first step towards obtaining your concealed carry license in Illinois.  The course is designed to teach the basics of pistol marksmanship. You will learn the functions of the different kinds of handguns and ammunition. The course emphasizes firearms safety while teaching the techniques of aiming, trigger control, hold control, and stance.

This 8 hour course offers a solid base upon which a student can safely build their shooting skills and includes shooting time on the range. All course materials included. Students to provide their own gun and cleaning kit. NO LIVE AMMUNITION IN THE CLASSROOM.  An NRA BASIC PISTOL certificate of training will be awarded to all participants who successfully complete the course.
